Yesterday I was at Six Flags Great America with my best friend and my boyfriend when a notification on my phone alerted me that somebody had made a comment on one of my blog posts.
Somebody actually reads these?
A very kind young lady by the name of Deborah Williams commented on my “Oh Yeah, I Should Probably Introduce Myself” post at 1:01 PM on July 22, 2014:
Congratulations on going to college. It’s going to be a totally different environment, but I’m sure you’re going to do well and have tons of fun while doing it. I really think you’re a wonderful soul, destined for great things, basing from what you shared about yourself. I’m wishing you all the best in life! Stay beautiful, Cath!
Wow. Just wow. First of all, I didn’t realize anybody was actually reading these posts, and I certainly never expected anybody to take time out to share their feedback. What an incredible reminder that online content creators really do see everything that people share with them, specifically comments. A “like” is one thing, another person’s words are another. The internet’s world wide webical connections never cease to amaze me.
This comment made me feel ridiculously good. I suppose that a large reason would be because a perfect stranger has gone out of her way to compliment me, but there is also a large part of me that is simply happy to have found proof that my words are being read. Maybe a future in writing is ahead of me.
Anyways, I can’t wait to read more of your comments. I’d love it if you, dear reader, would comment below where you’re reading from in the world and/or how you came across my blog! I’m dying to know.
